challenges
Traditionally, artisans sold their knives directly in markets such as Mumbai, but now, Anjar traders play a crucial role in facilitating sales. Khamir collaborates with knife makers to create samples, promote their products through its outlet, and connect them with exhibitions beyond Kachchh to sustain the craft. However, they face competition from cheaper and more attractive Chinese knives. To stay competitive, the focus is on innovative designs that reduce imperfections resulting from manual labor and material constraints.
solution
The knives' shape and size were adjusted to meet international standards, standardizing dimensions and material usage to ensure consistency. Brass plates were inserted between the wooden handle sections to prevent gaps between the wood and cast iron. The handle was ergonomically designed, taking into account the various ways chefs hold the knife for different tasks, ensuring enhanced comfort and functionality.

The covers should be lively, colorful, and playful, with themes centered around sports and music. Filled with intricate details, the designs should captivate children's imagination, offering an engaging and visually dynamic experience.
